Rutgers Rant: Should Scarlet Knights be satisfied with 7-5 football season?

Rutgers ended its football season on the right foot.
The Scarlet Knights (7-5, 4-5) beat the brakes off Michigan State (5-7, 3-6) in a 41-14 victory in East Lansing on Saturday that set the program record for Big Ten wins in a season (4). Rutgers ended the regular season with three wins in its final four games, overcoming a midseason four-game skid to end the fall strong and take a step forward in the fifth year of head coach Greg Schiano’s second stint at the helm.
How should Rutgers feel about this fall?
Should the Scarlet Knights be satisfied with overcoming a high number of injuries to key players and plenty of midseason adversity to finish with a winning record and a bowl bid? Or will they look back at how light their schedule was, how experienced their roster was, how much better the offense played and how they looked against the Spartans and wonder how much more they could have squeeze out this season?
The Rutgers Rant is back to have that discussion, along with recapping the Scarlet Knights’ regular season ending win over Michigan State and where it places them in the bowl game picture. We also discuss the men’s basketball team’s trip to Las Vegas and where it leaves Rutgers heading into December.
